Michael Belsham – Director
Michael is a chartered fire engineer (CPEng) with over 20 years’ experience in fire safety engineering. He was one of the first graduates of the Masters in Fire Engineering from Canterbury University. Michael has worked for several specialist and multi-discipline consultancies throughout New Zealand, Australia, and UK. He provided fire engineering design for iconic projects in Wellington including NTT Tower, Embassy Theatre, Old Bank Arcade and Wellington Airport. He also provided fire design assistance to offices in Melbourne and Sydney before moving to UK in 2006.
Michael became a Principal Fire Engineer leading several projects including national school redevelopment programme, shopping centre extensions, high rise office towers and universities. He became key fire designer for award winning projects of mega scale including Aberdeen International Business Park, The Event Complex Aberdeen, Marischal Square Aberdeen. Michael also assisted with projects in European Continent, Africa and Middle East including Zaha Hadid’s Bee’ah Headquarters in UAE.

Michael’s success is his diligent and responsive attitude to fire safety design whilst upholding the highest level of safety. His unique skills of explaining highly technical issues in simple language has enabled him to establish trusted relationships in the building industry. He is innovative and creative and strives for the best fire safety solution for all projects. Michael brings a positive and personable attitude striving to find the best solutions even for the smallest of projects.
